Sentiments is an ongoing collection of found images and materials from thrift stores, reappropriated artwork from digital archives, and original photographs that together convey a sense of longing. Distant planetary landscapes from NASA, fragmented parts of the body, and worn surfaces on old postcards become tethered narratives that form new meanings and perspectives. The photomontages in Sentiments provide soft spaces of feeling to contemplate intimate gestures that raise more questions than answers. Their imprinted surfaces connect the imagery’s original meanings to a transformed depiction that seeks to consider emotions of tenderness, care, and sensitivity.
