Nicholas DuPont is a photographer from Rhode Island, currently living and working in Providence. He began photography by taking self-portraits in the woods or by the ocean, visually exploring his identity and his understanding of the surrounding environment. From there he started photographing both natural and urban landscapes, while continuing his self-portraits and expanding to portraits of friends and other artists.
In 2016 he graduated from College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor, Maine with a degree in Human Ecology – an interdisciplinary study of the relationship between humans and both their natural and built environments. Nicholas merged his interests in marine science and art by exploring and documenting his experiences in Acadia National Park and along the coast of Maine. Through photography, he aims to express his relationships to individuals as well as the places he explores.
Nicholas is currently an MFA student in Photography at Parsons School of Design in New York City. CV available upon request.
